Soydivision and Ma-Makan
Food at Celestial Festival8 August 2022
A huge thank you to sōydivision (@soydivision.berlin) and Ma-Makan (@mamakanberlin) for keeping us all well fed during Celestial Festival.

Soydivision
Soydivision started out as an art collective that incorporates food with performative events which in turn was born out of our belief in the healing power of communal eating. By sharing our experience with other people in different settings we hope to foster more empathy and thoughtfulness for everyone involved. They served Indonesian signature foods with vegan options available on day 1 of the Celestial Festival.

Ma-Makan
Having found a scarcity of Malaysian and Singaporean food in Berlin, Kaylin Eu founded Ma-Makan in May 2017. All of the spice pastes, condiments and stocks are made from scratch, prepared with traditional methods while still preserving a note of the chef’s personality. The dishes of Ma-Makan are tokens of memory: the taste of a family’s home cooking, the history and heritage that can only be passed down through cuisine. Ma-Makan served Nasi Lemak and Fried Chicken on day 2 of the Celestial Festival.
